Welcome to your local social club website where we hope to provide you with information about who we are and how you can become a member of West Bergholt Social Club (WBSC).

The Orpen Memorial Hall, a registered charity (No: 208912 ) which includes the West Bergholt Social Club was built from money left in the will of Mr Osmond Orpen on 9th February 1918 and Scheme 8th February 1944. Mr Orpen was a respected local resident together with his brother-in-law Thomas Lorkin Daniell for playing field (Charity 208913) left bequeath to the village in the last century.  The wishes of Mr Orpen and Mr Daniell being that this wonderful Hall and facilities such as WBSC can be provided for the community and its various friends.

Initially the WBSC was a working men’s club for returning men from WW11 but has developed over the last 75 years organically into a vibrant family social club with two full size snooker tables and a darts board.  The club facilities including SKY, BT Sport, Jukebox and many community events from prize bingo, BBQ's to family fun days throughout the year.  WBSC Members participate in local darts leagues throughout the week and new players are always welcome.

We sell a varied selection of Draft Beers, Bottled Beers, Lager, Guinness, Ciders and Guest Ales throughout the year.   We sell Wines, Spirits, Soft Drinks, Crisps, Bar Snacks and selection of Sweets and Chocolate are really great value. Some may say a lot cheaper than our village pubs!.

The Social Club had a refurbishment in 2022.

We will even make you a coffee or a cup of tea if that's what you fancy,
